ALISO VIEJO, CA, March 1, 2006 – With
a slowing in many real estate markets across the country the this week the nation’s
leader in seller agency, the Seller Agency Council, Inc. announced that its focus
for March will be on heightening the awareness to both the consumer and real
estate professionals of the importance of highly effective Seller Representation.
“With an industry focused over the past decade on effective buyer
representation, and the possibility of the market advantage now shifting to the
buyers, agents are going to have to improve their knowledge and skills in effectively
working and representing sellers,” said Joe Kennedy, COO of the Seller
Agency Council.
Evidenced by the tremendous increase in demand for the ASR® designation
(Accredited Seller Representative®) there is clearly a desire and need to
balance the transaction. The ASR® two-day course is the first designation
program that focuses exclusively on seller representation and helps agents sharpen
the skills required to position the seller’s agent as a true market area
specialist while focusing on managing buyer agent tactics. The Accredited Seller
Representative® Designation program is being offered through RealtyU®,
the largest network of real estate schools in the country, RealNet Learning Services,
a national network of real estate instructors as well many state and local REALTOR® Associations
nationwide.
Kennedy further stated, “To meet the demands of both consumers and real
estate listing professionals, the Seller Agency Council, coupled with all of
our affiliated companies, will be focused during March on making the ASR® Designation
Program more readily available to all listing professionals that desire to raise
the level of professionalism in seller representation.”
Over and above an awareness marketing campaign, the Seller Agency Council
(www.selleragency.com) has also launched
a new informational website to help consumers better understand the different
types of agency, the terms related to seller agency and the seller agent’s
obligations to their clients. The site can be found at www.selleragencyspecialist.com.
